| Description | Hi Kerwin VoC issues are being reported when the RCU cannot control the TV. The RCU engineer says that this issue is occurring because the edid was not read correctly. Hi Mr. YK Jung, We've checked the log files and it maybe solved from iSet APP. Even EDID is not correct in the beginning, after few minutes we see EDID will be OK. But this time, iSet doesn't send EDID to RCU because EDID is the same as the one saved in iSet's data. So the important part is iSet needs to update EDID to RCU again. Then RCU will have correct TV model for IR code sets. Thanks ! |

Hi Kerwin I don't understand what you're saying. Is STB reading edid information periodically now? If I look at the flow, it seems that the RCU did not work and did it again after repairing. It seems that the edid information is updated when repairing. In my opinion, 1) you need to check why STB can't read it normally. 2) If STB can't read it, STB should try again or try to read it normally. Thanks! YK.Jung |

Hi Mr. YK Jung, From the log, I can't tell why it fails to get EDID at the first time. It maybe TV's issue. STB read EDID only when hotplug event is received. (HPD is an input pin on STB) I think user doesn't do HDMI cable so the possible reason to have hotplug event is from TV. BTW, Jason has a modified version of iSet. How can you verify ? Is it possible to update user's FW ? Thanks ! |

Hi Mr. YK Jung, From the log files, RCU doesn't receive correct EDID data so it fails to look up for TV brand. Problem: 1. iSet store correct EDID in SharePreference, a.xml 2. STB boots up, iSet get EDID with wrong checksum and set it to RCU. RCU response "ISET_ERROR_CODE_CHKSUM_ERROR". iSet doesn't save this incorrect EDID in SharePreference because checksum error. 3. STB gets correct EDID, iSet compare it with a.xml. iSet ignore to send this EDID to RCU because content is the same. RCU stays in "ISET_ERROR_CODE_CHKSUM_ERROR" Solution: iSet should remove a.xml in SharePreference if there is any error in EDID. If you need more detail explanation, please contact Brent.
